Harnessing Herbal Medicine to optimise your Health and Wellbeing
Are you tired of feeling sick and tired? Have you tried all the remedies but are overwhelmed by the different choices? Or are you struggling with reoccurring symptoms and are frustrated at not feeling heard?
Herbal medicine takes a holistic approach to your health, considering the person as a whole. It then looks to address the root cause of the problem alongside treating the presenting symptom. Rarely is the same condition presenting in different people treated in the same way.
Herbal Medicine provides a tailored approach to health with herbs playing a central role, alongside dietary and lifestyle changes where necessary to transform your health.
Your greatest wealth is your health. But what is health? Is it just an absence of disease or is it a positive attribute? Both Ayurveda, the traditional system of health of India, and the WHO define it as a positive attribute, a balance of both mind and body. Herbal Medicine is powerful in enhancing this positive state of health by detoxing, enhancing elimination and promoting well-being.
If you would like to find out more about herbal medicine there are herbal walks in the Summer and virtual events throughout the year. They are a means of sharing knowledge on herbal medicine, plant lore and concepts from Ayurveda, the traditional system of health and healing of India relevant to today,
Reflexology is also available at Wyld Court Herbs.
I'm a Medical Herbalist and have more than 20 years experience working within the health and wellbeing sector focussing on the powerful connection between humans and plants.
Even as a child I loved the healing space between plants and humans. I remember having my first garden as a child focussing on herbal remedies, I remember my mother giving me herbal teas when I was sick in bed. There was never a time when herbs were not a part of my life. Although I grew up in a family who's business it was to work with plants my interest was always the relationship between humans and plants.
Formal studies started with a course in Aromatherapy many years ago. Then a love for India and Indian philosophy and yoga led me to study Ayurveda, the traditional system of health of India. But the love for plants persisted and so I went on to do a second degree in Herbal Medicine.
I use my modern medical training and skills in practice to select the most effective herbs and treatment protocol for you. And an extensive training in Ayurveda to further inform this current approach, that of up to date science.
My qualification include:
BSc (Hons) Integrated Health: Herbal Medicine
BA (Hons) Ayurvedic Studies
which include extensive clinical practice both in India and the UK>
ITEC Reflexology Diploma
RCCA Aromatherapy Diploma
with further training in Maternity Reflexology
I keep up to date with new skills and the latest knowledge in the field of herbal medicine and also other modalities of natural health and am a member of the following governing bodies.
The herbal consultation is carried out at Neal's Yard Therapy Rooms in Covent Garden or then at the clinic in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, in a comfortable, private environment.
At the initial consultation which lasts 60-75 minutes there is an in-depth case history taken; this includes taking note of your presenting conditions and past medical history, any current medication, family history, personal health history and lifestyle choices. As much information as you can provide really helps to give me a clearer picture of what is going on and so select the most appropriate treatment and herbs.
Where necessary a physical examination is carried out and if necessary blood pressure is taken. Your vitality and constitution is assessed to further inform the line of treatment and the choice of herbs in the preparation.
At the end of the consultation a herbal treatment is devised backed up by appropriate advice on lifestyle changes and a focus placed on nutrition.
A follow up consultation is usually scheduled 2-3 weeks later to discuss your progress and after that further appointments can be scheduled for longer time gap of 6-8 weeks as required.
If you're booking in for the first time either at Neals Yard Covent Garden or in Berkshire please contact me directly by using the form below or by booking in a free 15 minute chat.

Herbal preparations come in many forms. Most often these come as a tincture, tissane or tea but can also be as tablets, powders, creams, lotions and ointments. It all depends on what is the most efficacious way of getting the herbs to match your particular needs.
Generally the herbs are prepared at the herbal dispensary here at Wyld Court Herbs or at Neals Yard dispensary but if for some reason it is not something we stock then advice will be given on how you can get them from some other reputable source.
Would you like to find a way to relax more deeply? Do you find it hard to switch your mind off after a busy day?
To complement the work I do with the Herbal Medicine I also offer Reflexology sessions which for most people is a most relaxing experience.
By working on your feet, applying pressure to the relevant reflex points, blockages that are felt are worked on and released to realign your body bringing about a state of balance.
It is recommended that a series of at least 4 treatments be given to begin to get marked results.
